Elizabeth Teresa DellaCorte ("Betty")
April 10, 1933 - September 11, 2025
Elizabeth Teresa "Betty" DellaCorte departed her loving family at 92 years of age, on
September 11, 2025, in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
Betty was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 10, 1933, to Joseph DellaCorte and
Louisa Gargiulo. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, her sister, Florence
Wunsch, and her son Joel Anthony Amore.
Betty lived a full, active, and purposeful life. She excelled in her career as an Interior
Designer for over 25 years, however, the most significant of her many accomplishments
was as the founder of the first shelter for abused women and children in the United
States, Faith House, now known as Stepping Stones Agencies, Prescott Valley. Her
home in Glendale, Arizona saw multitudes of women and their children, victims of
domestic violence come through the doors in desperation. There they found grace,
strength and resources to break the cycle of abuse. Betty was so proud of the amazing
individuals that are working to ensure these much-needed services continue and her
legacy of services continues today, through Stepping Stones Agencies in Prescott
Valley, Arizona. Today there are untold numbers of women and children whose lives
have been dramatically impacted by her pioneering vision and tenacious spirit.
Betty leaves behind her daughters Robin Burke (Harold) and Lisa Amore (Scott
Gebhardt), Karyn Shaffer-Vogt, her grandchildren, Cori Burke (Abraham Feinberg) ,
Joseph Burke (Marion Brisport), Eric Vogt, Kenzie Vogt-Cummings and Great
Granddaughter Emma and soon to arrive Great Grandson Carter. She also leaves
behind her beloved nieces Elizabeth Wunsch, Donna Robertaccio Leal, nephew William
Wunsch, and a multitude of cousins and extended family. Family was of the utmost
importance to Betty as she worked to create special holidays and birthdays stressing
the importance of "making memories". Her famous Antipasto will be painfully absent at
our family gatherings. (Sorry Hal!)
A celebration of life is being planned, and notifications will be provided at a later date.
Meanwhile, Betty requested contributions be made in her honor to Stepping Stones
Agencies in Prescott Valley, AZ and would be her most appreciated remembrance.
