Duane Harold Reeder Obituary

Glendale - Duane Harold Reeder, age 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather, educator, counselor, and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on December 23, 2023.


He was born in Brigham City, Utah, on March 24, 1941, and was the third child among 12 siblings in the blended family of Maurice and Prudence (Penny) Reeder.


In 1959, he married the love of his life, Melva Westley, and later were sealed in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. In 1969 they moved their family to Glendale, Arizona to begin his career in education. Together, they shared a beautiful life and raised four wonderful children: Allen, Ricky, Shawn, and Bret.


Duane is survived by his devoted wife, his four loving children, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and cherished siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers.


The family would like to express deep appreciation to all those who have offered love and support, and especially to the staff at Morning Star Assisted Living and Hospice of the Valley who provided exceptional care and compassion during his final months.
